Achievements

Originally providing cleaning to 360, the contract has grown over the last six years to now deliver a range of cleaning services from daily cleans to specialist industrial cleaning and window cleaning across their headquarters, distribution centres and retail and airport stores.

As well as implementing a mobile auditing system and 24/7 national service centre, ensuring each site mitigates against risk and minimum service disruption, Interserve has undertaken a complete business process review, analysing and evaluating current working procedures, productivity and service delivery to drive value across the contract and improve productivity. This has resulted in ongoing saving of £1 million per annum.

Boots has benefitted from a range of operational efficiencies initiatives including:

  • Halving overall annual costs at Boots headquarters within 6 weeks and with no redundancies
  • Achieving 50 per cent cost reduction by switching from evening to day time cleaning
  • Scheduling warehouse cleaning and weekly deep cleans around core working hours
  • Introducing scrubber-driers to reduce store cleaning times

As part of Interserve’s commitment to sustainability, sustainable cleaning products, noise control vacuums, eco-cubes and steam cleaning within toilet areas have been introduced. Other initiatives include replacing 3,000 waste paper bins with 300 strategically-placed recycling centres to significantly reduce the amount of waste to landfill.
